Background to this appeal:

A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar on March 28, 2025, resulting in over 3,000 confirmed deaths and thousands of injuries. The disaster has caused widespread devastation, with many buildings destroyed and survivors in urgent need of assistance.

In response, the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) has launched the Myanmar Earthquake Appeal to raise funds for those affected. Donations will enable DEC charities and their local partners to provide essential aid, including emergency shelter, medical care, food, and clean water.

The DEC brings together 15 leading UK aid charities to raise funds quickly and efficiently at times of humanitarian crisis overseas

You can find out more about the appeal at this link.
